Join us for fishing adventures in beautiful Sooke, BC. With years of experience fishing these waters for salmon and halibut, we’ll help you enjoy the best of nature around Vancouver Island.
Sooke Salmon Fishing
Sooke has been a year-round fishing destination for generations. Large runs of salmon migrate annually past the West Coast of Vancouver Island, feeding and bulking up before heading for their spawning grounds.
Sooke’s mild climate allows for year-round fishing. May through September you can fish for hard fighting Chinooks 5 to 50 pounds – delicious Sockeye 5 to 12 pounds, energetic Coho 5 to 24 pounds, scrappy Pinks 5 to 8 and hard fighting Chums 6 to 20 pounds July through October – yummy Winter Chinooks 5 to 20 pounds November into March.
Halibut Fishing
Halibut can get up to and over 200 pounds here, but the range is usually 30 – 70 pounds. They’re hard pullers and fun to catch. Pulling one up from the deep is a thrill! (And they're delicious.) Excellent halibut fishing can be found 20 – 30 minutes from Sooke.
Along the way, wildlife abounds. While cruising Vancouver Island’s rugged coastline to the fishing grounds, seals, whales, eagles and porpoises are often along for the ride.
